How PREPELIO Works

From a few choices to a practical cooking plan

PREPELIO helps you plan several days of meals without having to organize every recipe, portion and shopping item yourself.

You make a few practical choices. PREPELIO turns them into a meal plan, combines what you need into a shopping list and organizes the cooking into sessions you can follow.

No account is needed to get started.

1. Tell PREPELIO what you need

Start with the basics of the next few days.

Choose:

How many dinner days you're planning
Plan for three or four dinner days at a time.
How many people you're cooking for
Set the number of dinner portions you need.
Whether you want lunches included
PREPELIO can plan lunches alongside your dinners, with their own portion count.
How you want to approach the cooking
Your choices help PREPELIO decide how meals should fit together across the plan.

You don't need to choose individual recipes before you begin.

2. Start from scratch — or use what you have

If you're starting with an empty shopping list, PREPELIO can build the plan from scratch.

Already have food you want to use?

Choose Use What I Have and tell PREPELIO which ingredients are available. The planner can take them into account when evaluating possible plans and building your shopping list.

You don't need to have everything a recipe requires. The goal is to make useful ingredients part of the plan and show you what else you'll need.

3. Get a meal plan built around those choices

PREPELIO evaluates recipes that are suitable for planning and looks for combinations that work across the days you've selected.

The result isn't simply a random list of recipes.

The planner considers practical factors such as portions, meal timing, preparation and storage. When a dinner can sensibly provide portions for a later lunch, those portions can be planned from the beginning.

Other meals may be prepared separately or cooked fresh when that makes more sense.

The result is a schedule that tells you not only what to eat, but also how the meals connect.

4. See the plan day by day

The Plan view gives you the simple version first.

You'll see each dinner and lunch in order, the number of portions planned and where a later meal comes from when food has been prepared earlier.

Don't like one of the dinners?

Use Swap to change it while keeping the rest of the plan where possible.

Want a different combination altogether? Create another plan.

5. Shop once for the whole plan

Once the meals are chosen, PREPELIO combines their ingredients into one Shopping list.

Instead of opening several recipes and building a list manually, you can see what the full plan requires in one place.

If you've told PREPELIO about ingredients you already have, applicable quantities are taken into account so the list can focus on what you still need.

Check items off as you shop.

6. Cook in the right order

The Cooking view turns the meal schedule into cooking sessions.

For each session, you can see:

  • what to prepare
  • how many portions to make
  • what you'll serve now
  • what should be saved for a later meal
  • relevant storage or serving instructions
  • ingredients needed

This is where planned leftovers become useful.

Instead of discovering after dinner that you've made extra food, you know before you start cooking whether some of those portions already have a job to do.

A plan can change

Real weeks rarely follow a perfect schedule.

PREPELIO is designed with that in mind.

You can swap a dinner, generate another plan or change your settings and start again. The point isn't to lock you into a schedule — it's to give you a useful starting point that removes some of the daily decision-making.

Why only a few days?

PREPELIO deliberately focuses on a short planning window.

Three or four dinner days are long enough to make combined shopping, planned leftovers and batch cooking useful, without asking you to predict exactly what you'll want to eat far into the future.

When lunches are included, the schedule may extend into the following day so food prepared during the final dinner day can still become a planned lunch.

Then you can plan the next few days when you're ready.

Built around real recipes

PREPELIO doesn't invent recipes when you generate a plan. Your plan is built from PREPELIO's structured recipe collection, using information about portions, ingredients, preparation and storage to find combinations that work across the days you're planning.

No account required

You don't need to create an account to use the PREPELIO planner. Your current plan is saved in your browser so you can return to it on the same device.

Clearing your browser data or using another browser or device may remove or make the saved plan unavailable.

About portions

Portion counts in PREPELIO are used to plan recipe quantities, meals and leftovers. They are practical cooking estimates, not individualized nutrition or dietary recommendations.

Plan. Shop. Cook.

That's the whole idea.

Make a few choices. Get a plan for the days ahead. Shop from one combined list. Then cook with a clear idea of what you're making now and what you're preparing for later.

Smart cooking. More living.
